Mount Rainier

I've returned to guiding, only this time by bus and around Mount Rainier. It's a blast introducing people to the volcano and the surrounding areas, taking them on short and long hikes, especially to see the wildflower meadows and the Grove of the Patriarchs where the trees are around eight hundred years old.

Here we have the Nisqually River, glowing with glacial flour and surrounded by rocks of andesite and granite.

Peace Wave

After two failed attempts (two summers of low water and excessive smoke) we finally made our sojourn to Peace Wave on the Salmon, and got on it!

Peace Wave is a park-and-play wave on the Salmon just outside of Riggins, Idaho.

Hong Kong Kayak Instructor Course Rough Water Day

This was one of the best days I've had as an instructor trainer. After three weeks of flat water in a beautiful bay northeast of Hong Kong, we motored out to find rough water. We had a rigid inflatable chase boat with a photographer and this little movie ensued.

We just happened to be near a park where the candidates knew the local restauranteur.
